FAQ

It isn’t every day you book a wedding photographer so to help eliminate any confusion when booking your photography I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions that hopefully cover most of the process. SO WE WANT TO BOOK, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

To book your wedding date I ask for a deposit of £200. I willI will send over an invoice and information on how to secure your date with a booking fee. I also pop over an electronic agreement to confirm your booking.

 

Around 4 months prior to your wedding I send out an online details form, this includes a few brief questions outlining timings and locations for your big day. This information will help me begin to plan an itinerary for myself so I know exactly where to be and at what time on the day. Included in my package is also a complimentary pre-wedding consultation, which I usually plan in around 4-5 weeks prior to your big day. This is a great opportunity for us to have a catch up about your plans.

DO WE NEED TO HAVE THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?

The engagement shoot I offer additional to my wedding package is a great opportunity for us to have some fun and get to know each other before the big day. I like to keep the shoot relaxed and fun usually lasting around an hour. The location can be up to you, it can be somewhere sentimental to you both or I have a list of recommendations at the ready. I love seeing what couples do with their images, often using them to decorate their reception area at their wedding venue or using them as thank you cards.


Due to the nature of my working week, all engagement shoots are booked between Monday-Friday (great excuse to take a day off work!)


I am happy to travel around Hu11 and surrounding areas up to a 20 mile round trip however locations further afield may incur a small travel expense.

WHAT IS A PRE-WEDDING meeting?

I arrange to meet with all of my couples around 4 – 5 weeks prior to your wedding day. This gives us the opportunity to catch up about your wedding plans and allows me to build a timeline of your day. If you are out of the area and cannot find a suitable time to meet I am happy to call or Skype.

WHEN DO WE NEED TO PAY?

I ask for a booking fee of £200, which is deducted from the total package price. The booking fee saves your wedding date and ensures I am exclusively your photographer for the day and will not take any further bookings. After the booking fee is paid any other payments can be made in instalments right up until the 1st of the month prior to your wedding date. For example, if your wedding date is August 17th, full payment would be due and payable July 1st. I currently accept cash, bank transfer and PayPal as methods of payment.

DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

My package just includes myself on your wedding day, however I do offer the option of adding an extra photographer to your coverage for £300.

 

A second photographer is a good option when you are planning a large wedding with a high number of guests or you would like to ensure you both have coverage of your preparations in the morning. Having an extra photographer ensures better coverage of your guests throughout the day. I work closely with some very talented photographers in my local area who are more than happy to help out on the day.

 

Second shooter coverage is from morning preparations until first dance.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS ABROAD?

I sure do! I am based in East Yorkshire UK, but I love to travel. I have already had the opportunity to photograph abroad and loved every minute. More and more couples are choosing to book photographers from home for their weddings abroad, mainly because of the differing styles of photography other countries have to offer. How long is full day coverage?

Our full day coverage begins at bridal/groom preparations at round 2 hours prior to your service. We end our coverage around 30 minutes after your first dance.

After every wedding I shoot, I back up online as well as to two separate external hard drives so you can guarantee your images are safe and secure during the editing process. I always recommend once you have received all your images that you back-up also.

DO YOU CHARGE TRAVEL EXPENSES?

I am more than happy to travel further afield, I do not charge for the first 20 miles of HU11 however after that a small charge may apply.

HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE RECEIVING OUR IMAGES/video?

We currently have a lead-time of 4-6 weeks for photos but I continually keep you up-dated during the editing process and even throw in a few sneak peaks! Video editing can take a little bit longer so our turn around time is usually 8 weeks.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?

The amount of images you will receive will be completely dependant on your day. I always aim to tell your day exactly how it happens and capture as much as possible. Actually, the only time I ever stop shooting is during your wedding breakfast because lets face it nobody wants photos of uncle bob tucking into his roast beef diner!

DO YOU BRING SPARE EQUIPMENT?

I always carry two high-end DSLR cameras with me on a wedding day in case the problem did arise that one camera failed. I also bring with me a wide range of lenses and a back-up flash-gun as well.

DO YOU HAVE PHOTOGRAPHERS INSURANCE?

I am fully insured with public liability and also indemnity insurance.
